The Ins and Outs of Caravan Transport

The thought of transporting a static caravan can seem quite daunting to some and understandably so, they generally measure anywhere between 10 and 15 feet in width, with lengths ranging from the mid 20's to in excess of 45 feet. However, despite the complexities involved when transporting a static caravan, we have the experience and knowledge to make the process as smooth as possible for you.

From submitting the required notice to the relevant authorities for the wide load movement, to the loading and unloading of the unit and siting if required, we have everything in hand so you can sit back, relax and wait for our confirmation of delivery.

The below is a step by step process of what you can expect when having a caravan transported.

1. Once you've booked in a date with us, we'll start the ball rolling behind the scenes right away by submitting our request for a movement order to the relevant authorities, this is a legal requirement to be able to transport a wide (abnormal) load on UK roadways.

2. On your chosen date our HGV and Escort Vehicle will arrive in plenty of time at the collection location and begin setting up the equipment required for loading the caravan. Once loaded, they'll secure the caravan and then set off to the delivery location. The loading process usually takes between 45 minutes and an hour, depending on loading conditions.

3. Wave goodbye to your caravan as it sets off on its journey to its new destination. Depending on the distance being travelled, your caravan may stay out for the night and be delivered the next day, however this will be explained when booking.

4. Your caravan arrives at its destination. Our team will set up their equipment as they did when loading, and then unload the caravan in a position where it is deemed safe to do so.

5. You'll receive confirmation of the completed delivery.
